Q:1 What forms of payment does Charlie accept?

Cash, Check, Money Order, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Paypal.

Q:2 What is the "Smiley-Face" guarantee?

If you are not satisfied with the Kettlebody Teaser in any way, Charlie will refund your money with a smile on his face (and no questions asked).

Q:3 What the hell is a kettlebell?

It is a weight in the shape of a bowling ball with a handle. Kettlebells have been used in Europe for many centuries and have recently gained popularity in America. Almost anyone can use them as they are made in a range of sizes from under 10 pounds to over 100. Users never get bored with them because their shape allows for a wide variety of movements, both static and dynamic. Plus, you don't waste time because switching from one exercise to another takes virtually no time at all.

Q:4 Why does Charlie train exclusively with kettlebells?

Charlie wants to bring people an exercise that they won't ever want to stop doing. With kettlebells, you get results because the explosive movements increase your body's metabolism for a long time after the actual workout. Plus, the movements feel good because they mimic how the body was naturally designed to move. So if you get results and your body feels good doing it, you won't want to stop!

Q:5 Are kettlebells really enough to get me in shape?

Charlie thinks so! His sessions are varied and complete cardio and strength workouts. There are dozens and dozens of different kettlebell exercises that constantly challenge the body. But really, there's only one way for you to find out. Try the Kettlebody Teaser and feel it for yourself!

Q:6 Will training with kettlebells hurt my back or my knees?

No, it shouldn't. Charlie's job is to make sure that you perform the movements with proper form so as not to injure yourself in any way. Safety is his number one priority. In fact, kettlebell training is great for strengthening the back and knees to prevent injury. Check out Debbie's testimonial and see how it helped her back. That said, if you have a previous injury or issue with your back, neck, shoulder, knees, or any other body part, you must get evaluated by a medical professional before working out with him.

Q:7 Can I train with kettlebells if I am over 50?

Yes, and you should if you have no previous injury (see above)! The kettlebell lifts help to keep your joints loose and young because they use a wide range of motion. Also, working with these weights will increase bone density which is a big concern after 50.

Q:8 When are your bootcamps?

There are no more Kettlebody Bootcamps. At this time, there is only personal and semi-private training. However, Charlie is the only trainer in San Diego who does NOT charge extra for you to train with one other person. Partner training can actually be cheaper than many San Diego bootcamps.

Personal Training

Q:1 Where does Charlie do personal training?

Charlie has a private studio in Hillcrest within Herbin Acupuncture, a wellness center behind the Jean-Claude Salon. The address is 3594 5th Ave, but the entrance and free off-street parking is on Brookes between 5th and 4th). Also, it is sometimes possible for Charlie to train in your home.

Q:2 How much space would I need in my home?

Not a lot. As little as 6 feet by 3 feet of floor space (and ceilings that you can't touch) is all you need. Carpet, hardwood, and tile are ok. Yards work, too. Obviously, more space is required for partner and small group workouts.

Q:3 What are the rates after the Kettlebody Teaser?

You will find out during the third session of your Kettlebody Teaser. That's the policy. This is for a variety of reasons. Most important, he needs to train you a few times before he can accurately recommend the length and frequency of your sessions. For example, some people can reach their goals from 30-minute sessions two times a week, whereas others might start from a place where they would do better with 60-minute sessions. Charlie does his best to offer options to make his training affordable for most people.

Q:4 How long are personal training sessions?

Personal training sessions are either 30 or 60 minutes.

Q:5 Is there an extra charge for me to train with one other person?

No! Charlie is the ONLY trainer in San Diego who does not charge extra to train an extra person.
